What is the relationship between CCEF and Central Cambria School District?

Central Cambria Education Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to developing, promoting, and financing supplemental educational programs, activities and projects for the Central Cambria School District. Although two separate entities, we share a common purpose - to provide our young people with the type of exceptional educational and enrichment opportunities that will better prepare them for life and work in the 21st century.

Why should I contribute to CCEF when I already pay school taxes?

The taxes you pay to the Central Cambria School District support the district's ability to provide a quality education to the children it serves. In turn, maintaining academic excellence in our schools creates a more vibrant community for all of us. But tax dollars only go so far. CCEF works closely with Central Cambria School District to supplement, not supplant, programs and capital improvements that tax dollars cannot fund. If our children are to excel academically, culturally, and athletically, we must provide them with the kind of opportunities that will help them meet the challenges of the 21st century. That's a return on investment with long-lasting benefits.

Do Central Cambria schools need my support?

Despite political rhetoric to the contrary, state support for public education has not increased significantly and, in fact, has failed to keep up with demand for educational improvements. At CCSD, approximately 60 percent of the district's budget comes from state and federal sources. There are many years when state increases in basic education funding are less than cost of living increases. To continue to provide opportunities for CCSD students, such as field trips, summer camps, and arts programs, the Central Cambria Education Foundation provides venture grants and funding assistance to approved projects. Your support helps to make that happen.

Why should I contribute to CCEF when I no longer have children in the school?

Central Cambria schools are the lifeblood of our community. Many people locate here specifically for the high quality education CCSD offers - a cause and effect that increases the property values and quality of life for all residents - not just those with school-age children.

Can my business contribute to CCEF and is CCEF approved to receive Educational Improvement Tax Credits (EITC)?

Yes. CCEF is an approved Educational Improvement Organization (EIO). When your business contributes to CCEF through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, it is a win-win for everyone! An eligible business can be approved for a tax credit equal to 75 percent of its contribution(s) to an approved EIO up to a maximum of $400,000 per taxable year. The tax credit may be increased to 90 percent if the business agrees to provide the same amount of contribution for two consecutive years. Is my gift to CCEF tax deductible?

CCEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, contributions to which are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

May I give a gift "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of" a friend or loved one?

Donations to CCEF can be made in tribute or in honor of a loved one, friend, or teacher and can also be a memorable way to mark a special occasion such as a reunion, birthday or graduation. You may also want to consider leaving a legacy gift that "names" a program or facility - a tribute that is truly timeless.
